Katrina (Kat) completed degrees in both Kinesiology and Physiotherapy at University of British Columbia and has been practicing as a registered Physiotherapist since 2003.
She also completed a Masters Degree in Advanced Orthopaedic Physiotherapy at Western University in 2013, earning standing as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMPT). She certified in Chan Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) in 2010 and did trainings in Clinical Pilates in both Vancouver and Portland.
Kat believes that sport is not just a place we come to compete and play, but where we connect with ourselves and nature. Her Physiotherapy sessions include the integration of manual therapy and joint manipulation, IMS, exercise prescription and clinical Pilates. She has a strong focus on functional movement re-education and finds clinical Pilates an extremely effective tool for uncovering and retraining ineffective motor control patterns.
From rowing crew at UBC, to multiple Ironman and marathon finishes, to her current goal of completing as many World Cross-country ski Loppets as possible, her lifelong passion for sport has brought her much personal growth and adventure as well as simply making her a happier human. She loves supporting athletes of all types and abilities as well as anybody who wants to feel better in their body and life.
Outside the clinic, her current passions include mountain and road biking, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, Vipassana meditation and finding new cultures to explore and waves to surf.
